Online Resources Every Student Should Know
Whether you’re trying to pass a class or become more productive, check out these incredible tools and resources.
LinkedIn Learning
This platform empowers you to learn and develop in-demand skills that will benefit your job search and provides courses for Business, Creative, Technology, and Certification. While you need to pay a monthly subscription, some universities and public libraries offer free access. LinkedIn Learned courses are taught by experts and provide you with certificates that could make you stand out in a competitive job market.
Notion
This free popular organization app helps you get creative and create a personalized productivity platform. Notion has templates that are ready to use or can be customized further to meet your needs. Although it can be overwhelming to see the endless possibilities with Notions, you can find a lot of inspiration from checking out other people’s templates. This app can be used personally and professionally in a team setting, and is accessible through your web browser.
Khan Academy
What started out as a Youtube Channel has now evolved into a free education platform for high school and post-secondary students. Learn complex concepts outside of the classroom and understand different perspectives on teaching materials. This is a popular resource among STEM students, but is becoming more relevant to Art, Computer Programming, Economics, and Life Skills topics. There are many free resources for those who want to take entrance exams (e.g. LSAT, MCAT).
Todoist
Stay organized and become more productive with this free and easy to use app and Google Chrome extension. Keep track of your projects in one place and plan out your activities and tasks with simple lists. Whether you need to remember due dates or prioritize your homework, Todoist can link to your calendar and email and make sure you don’t forget anything.
CodeAcademy
You don’t need to be a computer science major to learn how to code. Whether you are hoping to brush up on your coding skills or want to pursue a new hobby, you can learn the basics of coding and expand your skill set to unlock new job opportunities. CodeAcademy has a variety of coding languages (e.g. Python, C++, JavaScript) to learn about and a full catalog of Career Paths that can benefit you. You can access a limited amount of resources and classes for free but you will need to upgrade to CodeAcademy Pro for additional resources, real-world experience, and certifications.
Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)
Do you often struggle with using proper citations, grammar, or punctuation? Purdue helps you learn how to use proper citations (ie. APA, MLA, Chicago) for your academic papers. While a Citation Machine is available on Purdue, manual citation is better for those who want to be extra cautious. Understand the basic rules on how to cite your reference list for different sources (e.g. book, digital source) and format in-text citations, footnotes, appendices, and more.

Outro
I’ve been thinking long and hard about what I wanted the first outro message to be – if it were to be a personal anecdote, a story, or even an overshare of what BobaTalks means to me. I’ve decided that for the very first one, I want it to be a message. A very dear message to any student reading this. And that message is:
It is alright to ask for help.
It is quite hard for anyone to ask for help. Be it pride, cultural upbringing, comfortability, or anything else in between, asking for help can seem overwhelming. Which is why I want to say, whenever you are ready, come let us know. We have mentors and resources, and we’ll always be free to all students looking for guidance. So no matter how messy, how undefined, or how lost your headspace is, don’t worry. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll be here.
We’ll figure it out, together.
